‘Out of his heart will flow forth rivers of living waters.’ – John 7:37-38

When we have this inner turmoil in our inner life, what do we do? Some would say pray more, have more quiet time, memorise Scriptures more, join your cell group more, etc. The problem with these, good as they may be, is that they are from the outside in! How then do we live from the inside out?

Join us in IDMC 2018 “Faith and Fire — Living from the Inside Out” and discover how to deepen our faith and ignite our fire as we live from the inside out!

Workshop 1
From Accomplishments to Authenticity: Leading from the Inside Out
Reverend Tony Yeo

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.“ John 15:5 (NIV)

Many who are in leadership are familiar that typical leadership development in organisations and churches concentrate exclusively on the “outside”, the doing part: leadership actions, behaviours, competencies, techniques, strategies that lead to accomplishments. Some lead through the force of their character, others through a coping strategy, and some through compelling goals. Patrick Rothfuss, in his book "The Name of the Wind", said: “We understand how dangerous a mask can be. We all become what we pretend to be.”  It is true that a leader’s environment and accomplishments obviously affect what goes on in the leader’s mind, and in return, the leader’s responses and actions impact his environment. External and internal — it is a dynamic whole.

This workshop will focus on Leading from the Inside Out: From Accomplishments to Authenticity. You will hear real life stories of how different leaders in the marketplace and in the ministry go about continuously growing their inner self as a whole person, based on the inner life values and beliefs in God as the way to grow to be an excellent and A Certain Kind of leader.
Workshop 2
From Brokenness to Wholeness: Healing from the Inside Out
Reverend Tan Kay Kiong

“Set me free from my prison, that I may praise your name." Psalms 142:7a (NIV)

We are saved by God for all eternity, but it does not mean that we are exempted from pain. Whether it is due to our own foolishness, that of others, or even the ploy of the evil one, the stark reality of our journey is: Christians do suffer. Nevertheless, it is in our brokenness that we realise our own strength and wisdom are limited, and how boundless God's strength and wisdom are. When we sink to our lowest point, there is only one thing we can do — cling on to the Jesus of Calvary! It is there that we can journey from brokenness to wholeness. It is where divine healing can begin from the inside out.

Come and be inspired by the journeys and testimonies of fellow Christians. And glorify God that He alone is the only one who can bring us out of our prisons!
Workshop 3
From Compulsions to Freedom: Growing from the Inside Out
Reverend Dr Chua Chung Kai

“But this is a people plundered and looted, all of them trapped in pits or hidden away in prisons ...” Isaiah 42:22a (NIV)

Trapped. Stuck. That’s how many of us feel. Caught in the race, trapped in our space, breathless at the pace — we seek relief. While we do find some measure of relief in alcohol, gaming, porn, relationships, social media, retail therapy, etc., these often drive us deeper into darker vortices that may trap us in a vicious compulsive spiral. How do we get unstuck? How do we free ourselves from the quicksand of relief and experience the true freedom we long for? By facing that which would ultimately set us free – pain. This workshop examines the pathways we take that trap us, and the choices we must make to free ourselves to be all that Christ intends.
